Historic property Silver Lake Plantation in Mansfield, Louisiana, was established in 1849 by William G. McKinnie of Alabama. This home features 12-foot ceilings, heart of pine and black walnut floors, six fireplaces and 24-foot Doric columns. This home played a role in housing wounded and dying soldiers after the Battle of Mansfield in 1864.
